FINALE!!

Wow, what an amazing 10 weeks it's been!
We've had a few people drop out, a few show up inconsistently, and a few who have ROCKED this and really made huge changes in their lives!

Final weigh-in and body fat scans are tomorrow, Sat. March 15th, from 8-9am at Four Pillar Fitness. Everyone should come - regardless of how many weigh-ins you've shown up at over the 10 weeks!

Two people will be leaving crowned as Bountiful's Biggest Loser, and $125 richer!! So exciting!!

A NOTE ON CALCULATIONS AND WINNERS: We'll have 2 winners - the first with the highest percentage of weight lost. To calculate this, you take the number of pounds lost, divide it by starting weight, then multiply by 100. Ex: If someone started at 215 lbs and lost 9 lbs during the contest: 9/215 x100 = 4.18. They lost 4.18% of their body weight. The second winner is whomever lost the most body fat percentage. So if someone started at 25% body fat, and Saturday they're at 20% body fat, they lost 20% of their body fat. Make sense? Hope so   And if one person happens to win both categories, the prize will go to the person who lost the 2nd highest body fat loss percentage, along with the highest body weight loser of course. Details for the Competition!

It's pretty simple:
10 weeks, 10 bucks, ten-times-more-effective than going at it alone!
  • Starts Sat., January 4th, ends after ten weeks of awesomeness
  • Weigh-in every Saturday morning. 358 W. 500 S. in Bountiful. Four Pillar Fitness has graciously agreed to let us do our weigh-ins there.  Come in anytime between 6-9am! (Let's shoot for 8am, but come anytime that works for YOU). 
  • Your weight will be kept confidential, but your percentage of loss will be posted here each week!
  • We'll have a Facebook Group Page (HERE) to communicate with each other, as well as this blog.
  • We'll have TWO WINNERS at the end: 
    • The person with the highest percentage of weight loss
    • The person with the highest percentage of body fat loss

First Weigh-in!

WOW!  What a great turnout! 19 people arrived at the gym early this morning and showed their commitment to LOSING!! Everyone was weighed in and got their body fat tested using the Body Metrix ultrasound scanner.
I think we all had a little wake-up call and reminder that we've got work to do  :)  But it's totally doable!! We've got everything we need to make it happen - motivation, accountability, and support.

If you haven't joined our Facebook Group yet, do it!  HERE. We'll be posting updates, reminders, and everyone is encouraged to post healthy recipes, ideas, workouts, etc. This may be a competition, but we still want to support each other!

F.A.Q.s

We're getting a GREAT response to this so far! Over 20 participants - let's hope you all are seeeerrrious and show up on Saturday!

Here are answers to some questions we've been getting:

"Is this only for people who have a LOT of weight to lose?" 
Not at all! Whether you wanna lose 5lbs or 500lbs, this competition is a great way to do it! We've got people of all sizes and ages participating. And since we're measuring body fat, you can still win if you gain a lot of muscle and don't necessarily drop big digits 

"What time on Saturday do we weigh in?"
Between 7am-8:30 is ideal. I'll be there that whole time to meet & greet If you can't make it during that time it's ok - come anytime before noon. There will be someone to get your starting weight. During 7-8:30am it will be a trainer named TJ doing the body fat scan and weight.

"Do we meet up to workout?"
Sure, if you want to! But that's totally optional. Everyone's got different schedules and so we're keeping this totally flexible.

"When/how do we pay?"
At Saturday morning's check in! Cash or check. We'll keep track of it all on the forms there.

"What if I can't make it to every weigh-in for the whole 10 weeks?"
That's totally fine - you just won't be eligible to win that week's prize (we have weekly prizes!!) You're still totally in for the finale as long as you come to the first and final weigh-ins 

First weigh-in coming up SATURDAY!

THIS is the fancy-schmancy tool we'll be using to figure out our starting body fat percentage. 
Again, it's all kept confidential so you don't have to reveal it unless you want that extra accountability and motivation :)
